Mekong River, Laos was made for a group exhibition, Redacted Perfection. The show explored alternatives to the perfection of contemporary photography which strives not only to match the crisp image of analog photography but also the versimillitude of reality.

I took the photograph as part of a three-week trip to Laos. I was interested in the way that the grace and slow beauty of this nation seem to at times obscure its violent history – Laos is the most heavily-bombed country, per capita, in the world.
