WHAT'S YOUR SOUND?
participatory drawing installation, 2006

For wall, chalk pastels, sonic imagination. First exhibited at F.U.E.L. Collection, Philadelphia, PA, USA.
So many people are afraid of museums and galleries; not sure what they are supposed to think or do; unsure of how to behave; resentful of an entirely one-way flow of creativity. I decided to invert that relationship. For one month every visitor to the gallery is asked to write or draw their favorite sound on a wall of sounds. It becomes impossible to walk past the wall without hearing a field of dreams.
